The sign is burned with a highly accurate focused beam of light (laser) which follows a black and white pattern or template. The laser burns away the wood until the area is recessed to match the pattern. Very detailed images are possible to cut with the laser. A tolerance of .004" is possible. Maximum size for a lasered area is 20"x20".
